Cities of Learning Network partners organise the training course on quality development and use of Open badges in their organisations and educational settings.

Aim and objectives: 

  1. To increase understanding about the essentials of Open badges and it’s potential to recognise and motivate learning
  2. To increase skills in managing Badge-based recognition processes
  3. To develop competence in designing and issue quality badges and badge systems, and implement them in your organisation
  4. To develop understanding about the Quality Label for Badge recognition* and ways to use it for ensuring quality in badging.

*Quality Label serves as a standard for badge-based recognition processes. It shows that badge issuers awarded the label have demonstrated expertise, dedication to established procedures, and a commitment to upholding high standards in using digital open badges for recognition.

  • Skills in designing recognition processes by using open badges
  • Understanding of quality criteria of good badges and badge systems as part of the Quality Label for Badge Recognition

  • Youth workers*
  • Mentors
  • Youth work managers
  • Youth trainers and facilitators
  • Working in the field of non-formal learning and/or youth work
  • Dealing with recognition of learning outcomes
  • Willing to explore quality use of Open badges in their programmes and projects
  • Residents in the countries, identified in the call
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Above 18 years old

Digital credentials and certification
This training activity is a unique opportunity for participants to use up-to-date and digital recognition solutions, such as digital Open Badges. Every participant will get Youthpass certificate and a portfolio of Open badges linked to specific learning experiences.

Costs

Travel costs will be reimbursed based on the actual costs not exceeding the lump sums based on the travel distances, in Euro:

10-99 km - 28 / green travel - 56 
100-499 km - 211/ green travel - 285
500-1999 km - 309/ green travel 417
2000-2999 km - 395/ green travel 535

Only justified costs will be eligible for reimbursement  If travel costs will exceed the lump sums, the remaining costs shall be covered by the participant or their sending organisation.

Participants may opt for the “green travel” options for a slightly higher travel budget. Please contact the organiser for more information about eligible green travel options.

Board, lodging, local transportation and programme implementation costs will be covered upon full participation in the course.

To balance the training budget, we invite participants to contribute a 50 euro participation fee, which will be deducted from the travel costs reimbursement. In justified cases, participants may request a discount or waive the contribution. Participation fee should not be a barrier for participation.
