It goes without saying that you must have sufficient swimming ability yourself to rescue someone. That's why this test is done as a prerequisite. You swim fully clothed (polo shirt and shorts) because that's typically the case for a lifeguard on duty.
If you pass this swim test - with shorts and a polo shirt on - and complete the other 3 components in this task, you can start the ZRZ training. You must complete two components, which you will repeat during the practical exam:
Swim 25m freestyle with clothes on within 30 seconds.
Enter the water from the poolside in a swift, safe, and responsible manner, immediately followed by swimming underwater for 15 meters to retrieve a ring located at a depth of at least 2 meters and 15 meters from the edge.
If you do not meet the requirements of this swim test, it is unwise to participate in the lifeguard training.
