Emerging Communicator
This badge is for participants who are taking their first steps in using English during an international training experience. By earning the Emerging Communicator badge, you show that you are learning to understand others more clearly, and that you are finding ways to express your own thoughts, ideas, and needs so that people around can understand you. This badge recognizes not perfection, but growth — the small moments of progress that slowly build confidence and help you feel at home in an English-speaking environment.
Tasks
Task no.1
Evidence verified by: self-approved
To earn this badge, you should:
• Make an effort to communicate in English during the training, even when it feels difficult.
• Ask for clarification when they don’t understand something.
• Express your ideas or opinions at least a few times during group work or discussions.
• Use simple English to present who you are and what brought you to the training.
• Reflect on your communication challenges and small wins throughout the experience.
To show your learning progress, you should provide:
• A short written or audio introduction about yourself (in simple English).
• A brief note describing one situation during the training where you successfully communicated something in English.
• An example of a moment when you had trouble understanding, and how you solved it.
• A short reflection about how your confidence in English changed during the training.
